Many people are interested in a bigger behind, but for some, squats just won’t produce noticeable results and implants are out of the question. The Brazilian butt lift is a natural solution to lifting and increasing the size of your backside while also slimming the surrounding areas for a more profound behind.
WHAT IS THE BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT?
The Brazilian butt lift, also referred to as a BBL or butt fat transfer, is an advanced cosmetic surgery technique that naturally enhances the appearance of one’s buttocks with their own fat. Elevation, size, shape, and contour are all improved without the use of implants; rather, fat is harvested via liposuction from any part of the body and then injected into the buttocks. Popular areas for liposuction include the stomach, waist, lower back, and thighs as the size reduction of these areas too enhances the projection of the posterior. Results of the BBL are both natural looking and natural feeling. A Brazilian butt lift is a great solution for those who want to increase the size of their buttocks, decrease the size of other areas of their body, and remain implant-free.
A Brazilian butt lift procedure is able to address a buttocks that is:
Since each patient experiences different problems and concerns, BBL procedures are custom designed to provide each patient with results that complement their frame and stature. If a patient has one cheek that is larger than the other, the appropriate amount of harvested fat will be injected into the smaller cheek to make it proportional with the other. If that patient wants an overall larger behind, fat can be injected into the larger cheek, and the appropriate amount of additional fat will be used for the smaller side.
Small, flat, or box-shaped behinds can be enhanced by injecting fat into the top, bottom, and/or sides of the cheeks to create an overall round, perfectly sculpted posterior. Butts that appear long and sagging can be improved by injecting fat higher on the cheeks. However, sagging due to an excessive amount of loose skin may not be improved with this procedure. A consultation examination with Dr. Suarez will determine your candidacy.
BRAZILIAN BUTT LIFT VS BUTT IMPLANTS
Yes, both procedures enhance the posterior, but by completely different methods. The Brazilian butt lift is a natural approach to buttocks lifting and enlarging; it uses your own harvested fat for enhancement. Butt augmentation with implants is a procedure that inserts silicone gluteal implants into the behind for increased projection. Insertion of butt implants requires large incisions between the cheeks in order to create a pocket for the implants.
Much risk is involved with butt augmentation via implants not only because of the large incisions necessary, but the placement of the incisions; poor hygiene can be a cause of infection.
The Brazilian butt lift is preferred over implants because of its little to no risk of infection. Since the procedure uses your own fat to achieve lift and fullness, your body will not reject it. The BBL is also a closed procedure, meaning that there are no large incisions or lifting of skin necessary. Since only extremely small incisions are needed for the insertion of the thin cannula, Brazilian butt lift techniques greatly lower the risk of infection.
Butt augmentation with implants can run the risk of implant movement, implant rupture, and capsular contracture. They are also less natural feeling compared to butt fat transfer, which is just about as natural feeling as you can get. Additionally, butt implants aren’t permanent; they are not meant to remain in the body indefinitely. But with the Brazilian butt lift, so long as the fat graft holds results are long lasting.
A Brazilian butt lift can be performed on both women and men who wish to create a perky, prominent behind. These patients should be in good health, but they should also have enough excess fat to provide an abundant source of fat since not all of the fat cells will take in the transfer process. The larger you wish your posterior to be, the more harvested fat will be required. This fat should also be easily accessible for suctioning; visceral fat cannot be obtained or used.
BBL patients should have ideal skin elasticity to complement their new round contour. Those with sagging skin from major weight loss may require the removal of skin. Dr. Suarez can determine whether you are suited for a BBL procedure, as well as offer her expert advice if she thinks another procedure may be more suitable for your individual case and aesthetic goals.
Patients seeking a Brazilian butt lift should have realistic expectations of what the procedure can provide. Since every patient is unique, BBL results will vary. Results will be based on individual goals, patient size and frame, and the amount of fat available for harvesting. This procedure is also not designed to provide an extremely large increase in size, but it will provide a noticeable, natural looking enhancement.
PREPARING FOR YOUR PROCEDURE
- Brazilian butt lift patients must stop smoking a month before their procedure date.
- Intake of anti inflammatory meds the week before the procedure is not recommended; please discuss approved medications with Dr. Suarez during your consultation.
- Brazilian butt lift patients must be able to take at least 2 weeks off from work if they do not have the ability to work from home. After a butt lift procedure, patients cannot sit on a hard surface for two to three weeks; they can seat on a donut shaped foam cushion or they must remain on their stomach until the buttocks has fully healed.
- Bring extremely loose fitting pants or a sundress as a postoperative outfit; patients will want to avoid wearing anything tight during the healing process.
- Additional preparation instructions will be given to you after your consultation examination.
You will recuperate in the recovery room with the attentive care of our friendly, skilled staff. Once you are released from the recovery room, you can be driven home by a friend or family member, who will ideally spend the night with you to help you with first night recovery care instructions (these will be provided to you at the surgical center.) It is perfectly normal for your bottom to feel a little tender or sore, but this will go away with time, proper care, and pain medication if necessary.
If all instructions are followed carefully, your results should be long lasting.
Butt lift patients have to lay on their stomach when they are not standing or walking for the two weeks following surgery. Sitting on a hard surface any sooner than the instructed date hinders proper blood supply and can cause the fat graft to not take. Sitting too soon can also disrupt results by shifting fat placement from the premature weight placed on it. Strenuous physical activity should not be partaken in for at least six weeks post operation.
The Brazilian butt lift cost changes based on each patient’s specific desired results and the amount of liposuction performed. Dr. Suarez will gladly sit and talk with you during a one-on-one private consultation to assess your individual condition and provide you with a custom quote.
